  Week -9 (11/12/2023 – 15/12/2023) The last week of school internship programme was from 11 December, 2023 to 15 December, 2023. The grammar topics adverbs and adjectives were also taught to the students based on the models of teaching. Our optional teacher Ms. Ambili R visited our school for class observation. She gave the necessary instructions after observing the class to increase our confidence.   An achievement test was conducted for the students on 12   December for the students of standard VIII F. The second term exams for the students began on 13 th December. On the last day of the week, we got our attendance register and teaching practice record signed and sealed by the Headmaster of the school.           As part of the BEd curriculum, the teacher trainees were required to present an innovative work on a topic during the school internship phase. I prepared a detachable album as a learning aid based on the topic ‘Poetic Devices’. The work was presented to the students of class VIII F of Krist Raj HSS, Kollam. The objective of this innovative work was to make the students familiarize the concept of poetic devices and to enable the learners understand the different poetics devices such as simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, alliteration, onomatopoeia, imagery and rhyme.                                                                                                          ...

Week – 8 (04/12/2023 – 08/12/2023) The eighth week of school internship programme was from 4 December, 2023 to 8 December, 2023. I continued the topic The School for Sympathy . The procedures were as usual. The class began with an informal interaction which was followed with a discussion of the follow up activity which was given the previous day. Then a few questions were asked. Then the next few paragraphs were read in the class. The learners were asked to read the paragraphs silently and then share their ideas with their peers, Few questions regarding the topic was asked. Unfamiliar words were introduced along with their meanings. Group activities were given and then I recapitulated the topic taught to them. The class was concluded with a follow up activity. This method was followed throughout the week with slight variations. I was able to complete the chapter by the end of this week.                                            As part of the BEd curriculum, the teacher trainees were required to conduct a conscientization programme in our respective schools during the school internship phase. Prashanth J Francis and Roshni A Robin of English optional were the two teacher trainees who conducted the programme at Krist Raj HSS, Kollam. The topic of the programme was “Water Conservation”. It was conducted on 8 December, 2023 for Standard VIII. The main objectives of this programme were to develop a deep awareness about the importance of water conservation, create a sense of sustainable living and to educate the learners about the different methods of water preservation and rain water harvesting. Week – 7   (27/11/2023 – 2/12/2023) The seventh week of school internship programme was from 27 November, 2023 to 2 December, 2023. I continued the topic   Song of the Flower . The class began with an informal interaction which was followed with a discussion of the follow up activity which was given the previous day. Then a few questions were asked. Then the next stanzas were read in the class. The learners were asked to read the stanzas silently and then share their ideas with their peers, Few questions regarding the topic was asked. Unfamiliar words were introduced along with their meanings. Group activities were given and then I recapitulated the topic taught to them. The class was concluded with a follow up activity.
