WEEKLY REFLECTION 7 (27/11/2023 - 02/12/2023)
Week
– 7 (27/11/2023 – 2/12/2023)
The seventh week of school internship programme was
from 27 November, 2023 to 2 December, 2023. I continued the topic Song of
the Flower. The class began with an informal interaction which was followed
with a discussion of the follow up activity which was given the previous day.
Then a few questions were asked. Then the next stanzas were read in the class.
The learners were asked to read the stanzas silently and then share their ideas
with their peers, Few questions regarding the topic was asked. Unfamiliar words
were introduced along with their meanings. Group activities were given and then
I recapitulated the topic taught to them. The class was concluded with a follow
up activity. I completed the chapter and on the third day of the week I began
the next unit titled ‘Share and Care’. The theme of the unit was discussed in
class along with some activities. The next day I began the chapter titles The School for Sympathy. A few details
about the author was also mentioned. I started the class by presenting a picture
as an entry activity. Then I asked a few questions and went on to read the
first few paragraphs. Then the learners were asked to read silently and share
their ideas with peers. A few questions were asked related to the topic to
check their level of understanding. The students responded actively. Then with
the help of flashcards or slides unfamiliar words with their meanings were
introduced to them. A group activity was then given to the learners. The
learners presented their answers and then a better version of the answer was
given to them. Then the topic discussed in the class was recapitulated and a
few questions were also asked to them. The classes were usually concluded with
a follow – up activity which will be checked the next day. This method of
teaching was followed everyday with slight variations throughout the week. I was able to complete more than half of the chapter this week.
This week was indeed a memorable one. I was very
much satisfied with the classes. I was able to gain a lot of experiences and
learn something new everyday. The students were also very cooperative and
responded actively. I also collected details about the school to conduct the
SWOC analysis.
