PHASE II - WEEKLY REFLECTION 7 (22/07/2024 - 26/07/2024)
Week – 7 (22/07/2024 – 26/07/2024)
The last
week of school internship programme was from 22 July, 2024 to 26 July, 2024.
The grammar topics Simple Past Tense, Prepositions and Adjectives were taught
to the students based on the models of teaching. On Thursday, the topic Articles
were taught to the learners using the innovative lesson plan. The class began
with an informal interaction with the students. As a preliminary task the
learners were asked to read a poem which was presented to them. Then the topic
was introduced to them. After that a group activity was given to the learners.
The answers were discussed. Then the rules concerning the usage of articles and
its exceptions were discussed using flow charts as well as a tree – shaped chart.
Then another group activity was given to the learners. They were asked to
create sentences based on the noun cards they have chosen. Their answers were
checked and edited. The learners were asked to present their answers. After
that the learners were asked to share their ideas with peers. Then they were
asked to recapitulate the topics. The class was winded up with a follow – up activity.
An achievement test was conducted
for the students on 26 July for the students of standard IX F.
On
the final day of the week, we had our attendance register and teaching practice
records signed and sealed by the Headmaster of the school. We expressed our
gratitude to the Headmaster and the teachers for the opportunity they provided.
We said our farewells to both the teachers and students, and I also gathered
feedback from my class.
My
teaching practice at Krist Raj HSS, Kollam was an invaluable experience. This
internship has significantly broadened my knowledge in the field of teaching,
allowed me to interact with both teachers and students, and provided
experiences that will benefit me in the future. The support from the students,
teachers, and other staff throughout this period was exceptional. Overall,
these experiences and memories will undoubtedly play a crucial role in guiding
me on my path to becoming a teacher.
